Cinnamon-The medicine hiding in your pantry

Cinnamon is probably hiding in your pantry right now! It is a warming and drying spice that is really good for digestion (indigestion, cramping, gas, diarrhea, etc), fever with chills, blood sugar regulation and more. I talk about some studies with insulin resistance and diabetes type 2!

The best way to take herbs is as part of what you already eat and drink. Double or triple the amount of cinnamon in any recipe, sprinkle it over roasted sweet potatoes, add a tsp to your morning warm beverage.

Here is a recipe for Homemade DIY Throat Coat Tea

Into a small saucepan, add

4 cups water,
2 tbsp marshmallow root,
2 tbsp cinnamon chips (or broken sticks),
1 tsp dried orange peels,
6 cloves,
1 tsp licorice root pieces
Bring to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain. Add honey or maple syrup to taste. Drink up!
